BEE! brings a lightheartedness to live music and a thoughtfulness to the studio that shines through whether you’re experiencing them in concert or listening to their music. If you like the songwriting of the Beatles or the jam-rock journeys of Goose, you’ll love BEE! After releasing their latest studio album, Welcome to the Hive, frontman Evan Krabill journeyed westward on an epic quest to walk 2,650 miles of the American wilderness (a.k.a. the P.C.T.). BEE! is a polished and dynamic indie rock outfit that will make you dance, laugh, cry, and proclaim “I don’t mind doin’ a little bit of walkin’ (as long as you’re walking next to me).”

Brought together by a spur-of-the-moment invitation to play a house show in the fall of 2021, Birch, Evan, Evan, and Isaac have been groovin’ and causin’ a buzz ever since. The name “BEE! the Band” was born when nobody had a better idea of how to combine the first letters of their names, yet the icon of “BEE! the Band” was forged during long hours on the road and the trail, countless hours of practice, and many breaks during practice to play Mario Kart. 

BEE! takes the heartfelt songwriting of the Beatles and provides the instrumental backdrop of jam-bands like Goose and indie pop acts like Vampire Weekend. While never taking themselves too seriously, they pride themselves on their ability to make enjoyable and soul-enriching music that pays homage to many, yet replicates none exactly. Each member finding his roots in different styles and disciplines that results in the music that you’ll love; songwriting that makes you question the very ground upon which you tread, a groove that’ll make you want to take your shoes off and boogie, and the humor of a troop of bonobos. “Buzz rock” is sure to perk up your ears and make you smile.

Drawing inspiration particularly from improvisation-based jam bands, BEE! loves to interact on stage in a way that guarantees you’ll never see a song played the same way two times, regardless of how many times you watch them live. The joy that they experience while making music with each other is one that they’re working hard to spread throughout the Midwest, the world, and maybe even someday…space.
